Saga at Spellbound has come up with her very own 20 Days of WoW Blogging challenge - this is Day 8.
10 things we don’t know about you:
I have to admit, I've found this topic to be one of the more challenging to write. There is a fine balance to be found between finding things that my readers don't know about me, but also finding things that are appropriate to share. Anyway, here goes...

I have to admit, I've found this topic to be one of the more challenging to write. There is a fine balance to be found between finding things that my readers don't know about me, but also finding things that are appropriate to share. Anyway, here goes...
- My favorite color is emerald green.
- I am a lazy, pleasure seeker, with minimal motivation outside of desire, and I'm learning to be ok with that.
- I am addicted to caffeine, with my poison of choice being Diet Cherry Dr Pepper (Diet Pepsi Wild Cherry is a close second).
- I have an orange tabby named Sammy.
- I have a habit of naming the important purchases in my life. For example, my car is named Buttercup.
- I am terrified of heights, both IRL and in game. It takes me time to get across the bridges in Thunderbluff or down the chain to BRD because it scares me that much. I'm also afraid of the elevator bosses (both in game and IRL).
- I'm horrible at making decisions. When I have to choose I always feel guilty, as though I'm being selfish, and will sometimes choose what I think my companions would most like.
- While I've never been to a psychiatrist or psychologist for diagnosis, I think I have a touch of OCD, social anxiety and a bit of depression at times, as well as some massive self esteem issues.
- I'm a conservative socialist. I dare you to figure that one out!
- My favorite food is macaroni and cheese.
AMG - we're like totally twinsies!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is emerald green (with dark purple a close second)

I am addicted to caffeine, with my poison of choice being coffee because there is no other honest way of imbibing a lot of caffeine!.
I have an black and white cat named Hex.
I have a habit of naming the important purchases in my life. Ok I don't do this (unless I'm forgetting something!)

I'm horrible at making decisions. When I have to choose I always feel guilty, as though I'm being selfish, and will sometimes choose what I think my companions would most like. I'd be a really good Catholic.
I've been to both psychiatrists and psychologists for diagnosis and I have a scary sounding diagnosis but I'm pretty ok now :)
I'm a socialist. I think.
My favorite food is cheese, cheese and moar cheese!
(Hope you don't mind me snitching your choices and amending them - it just seemed more comical than writing 'me too!' next to each of them!)
PS: I'm not a deranged stalker. Even though this might make me look like one...
I love your car's name. Every car chugs worryingly sometimes and there's got to be something calming in saying "there there Buttercup, it's ok... keep going..." like I do with my car (who's called Lady Thunderchild. Spot the War of the Worlds fan).
ReplyDeleteI'm also guilty of #7, though I'm working hard on changing that and accepting that selfish isn't always bad. And cheese is wonderful! Though I prefer it neat rather than on things xD
Conservative Socialist...that hurt my head. Anyways, cool you like a cat, that means your good people. Im super guilty of the Caffiene stuff, though I go for broke and destroy my kidneys with RedBull and Monsters.
ReplyDeleteEmerald Green(ers) unite!
ReplyDeleteThere's absolutely NOTHING wrong with being OCD. If anyone thinks they're in the minority because of it, pause and consider that the entire mechanic your WoW character(s) is based upon exploiting that. Pets, Mounts, Achievements, better gear, it doesn't matter. It's all about "I got this, now what's next?"
Pilf - I've often felt we have too much in common for our own good - and I know this is going to come across as crazy stalker too, but I swear to you its not. A while back, when you posted your ten things, I nodded and agreed with almost all of them. I didn't comment because I though it would be a bit weird, but I guess now is as good of a time as ever to let the weird out.
ReplyDeleteWe have so much in common, from the never knowing what I really wanted to do with my life (except write), down to the punk/goth look I had when I was younger (not to mention that dark purple is my second choice as well).
Eerily enough, I've felt a connection, a kinship to you from the moment I first read your blog that I haven't felt about any other blog or blogger ever.
Cheers to us being weird twinsies!
Rebecca - that is exactly why I name things, so that when there is trouble I can talk soothingly to it and even if it doesn't make the thing feel better or actually fix anything, somehow the act makes me feel better. Yep, I'm totally crazy!
ReplyDeleteMhorgrim - You think Conservative Socialist hurt your head? Try being one! LOL
ReplyDeleteArcane Wordsmith - I guess I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with being OCD per se, but there are levels to this kind of thing. You should see the arguments my father and I get into in the kitchen over which spoon to use to stir different dishes. We're both OCD, and about the same things, but in different ways. I think we both recognize how silly it is, but for some reason stirring rice with a slotted spoon still makes me twitchy, and not stirring it with a slotted spoon makes him twitchy. And now you know just how crazy I am...
